Hope you had a great weekend. Now it’s time to gear up for Thanksgiving! With everything that’s going on right now, hubby and I will be spending a quiet Thanksgiving at home. My niece and her hubby graciously invited us to a big family get together they’re having at their new home in California. Normally, we would be the first to show up excited to see everyone, but because of things beyond our control this year, we’ve reluctantly had to decline 😥 Candice and Wayne… we love ya and we’ll miss being there to celebrate Thanksgiving with you and the rest of the family.
To make the most of our “simply quiet” Thanksgiving, we paid a visit to our friend, Marilyn, and her farm – Cowboy Trail Farm – to pick up some fresh organic veggies for our celebration. Hubby and I belong to an organic gardening group that Marilyn founded a couple of years back and we do whatever we can to help support her organic efforts here in town. This past weekend, our support meant buying fresh organic veggies from her Saturday morning market. Yum!
It’s always nice to wander through her farm property (about 1.5 acres) because there’s always something wonderful growing, no matter what time of year it is. Marilyn is very innovative with her gardening practices and has implemented some truly wonderful ideas throughout her farm. Enjoy the visual tour…
Did someone say fresh butternut squash soup?
